I was a diehard atheist materialist reductionist, and I did not want to live in a universe where any of this stuff was real. And I had fellow skeptics who would say, oh, I want to believe in God or aliens or consciousness or whatever, but I just can't. There's not enough evidence.
And I would say, why do you want to believe? I'm glad it's not real. I don't wanna live in a universe where any of this is real.
You're tuned in to Everything's Energy, the EE Show. I'm Michael Scalar, and today, I'm sitting with Michael Mazzol. And we are going to talk about a brand new streaming platform and then dive into some spiritual concepts constructs and fun little conversation. But I actually really just wanna hear more about this spark.

Exactly. Yeah. Exactly. So we kind of want to be the MTV version of Gaia. So, you know, I come from the UFO documentary world and my passions are consciousness, personal transformation, weird ancient history, aliens, bigfoot.
We've got all of that stuff. We've also got some true crime, some scripted and then stuff about entrepreneurship, mindset, positive thinking, manifestation, near death experiences, science, the electric universe. We've got tons of great documentaries and original stuff. You were actually a guest last night on one of the new original shows that we're doing, which is called Ancient Future with Adam Apollo.
Yeah. Great was conversation with him. And I was thinking about ancient future. I'm like, that's such it's hard to say because it kinda glitches. You're like ancient and future.
So it's like they're starting ancient and they're going into the future, it's ancient future. Wait, wait, what's going on?
Yeah, I suggested, I said, why don't we call it future state? And he's like, nah, we're going to call it ancient future. And I'm like, oh, okay. Yeah, that's pretty cool.
Who you have Adam Apollo. Who else do you have coming on to do, like, the concept? Like, are you doing a lot of original studio stuff like we did last night? Or is it gonna be a lot of other stuff that's filmed off-site? What's the vision?
So it's a total mix, right? So my co founder, Serena Deasy, and I, we come from the documentary world. Yeah. So we've done between us, I don't even know how many films, but she's an Emmy nominated documentary filmmaker. She's got way more credits than me.
She's so humble, I had no idea.
It's funny. So I did a documentary called Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind with Doctor. Stephen Greer. It came out in 2020. And In that documentary, we teach you how to initiate contact with ETs, which is a big claim, right?
I'm fascinated. I kind of like, how do phone home to ETs to come home?
So I will get to that, but the key is that everything is consciousness, everything is energy, and these super advanced civilizations
Guys, he just said everything's energy.
I had to do the shameless plug. So the idea is these civilizations are extremely advanced, not just technologically but spiritually. If you look at my favorite book of all time, Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda, he talks about these Hindu saints, these yoga masters, these gurus in India, and they had these magical powers. As develop your consciousness, you could levitate or teleport or dematerialize and rematerialize or communicate telepathically or bilocate, which is when you're in two places at once. Well, what are UFOs doing?
They're levitating, they're teleporting, they're dematerializing and rematerializing, they're bilocating, and they're communicating telepathically. And actually you see the same thing in the Catholic tradition. I'm Italian, I was raised Catholic, and you look at the saints and the abilities started to manifest as they purified themselves spiritually. So it's universal concept. And so I believe that these civilizations have had millions of years beyond us to develop spiritually.
And so they have all developed these abilities and now they're manifesting technologically. So their consciousness is totally integrated into their technology. And so as a result, if you step out under the stars with a pure heart and without fear and you can put out a coherent intention to make contact, they will appear. And we've done this over and over and over again. We have hundreds of thousands of people who have tried this around the world.
Millions have tried it, but hundreds of thousands who have actually published the photos and videos. It's absolutely amazing.
So you did a documentary on this?
It came out during the lockdown. We had to cancel our premiere because it was that first fifteen days to stop the spread.
And so Serena, Serena D. C, reality TV star, she's in England during the lockdown with her husband and she watches it. She's like, Oh, what a load of crap. Let's try it. So they go outside and they try it and this giant silver object undulated past them in the sky.
It wasn't fast. It kind of slowly went over their heads and then it disappeared. And they were sitting there just their lives totally transformed. And the next morning there was a crop circle in the field next So to her she's like oh that's it. So she comes to LA and she tracks me down and she says okay you're going to be my partner.
I want to do UFO stuff with you. I want to make 10 documentaries in one year. And I said well why don't you make one documentary? You know it's like really hard to make one film so
you And start she could tell that I maybe thought she was aiming too high. So she went off and she made 10 documentaries in one year and she got nominated for an Emmy for best documentary for the first one that she ever made. So then I said, Okay, teach me your ways. And we became partners and then she came to me and was like, hey, we should start our own streaming network. And normally, I'd be like, are you crazy?
That's so ridiculous. We can't do that. But then I remembered what I just told you about the 10 documentaries in ten years and how she did it. So I said, yeah, let's do it. And so we did it, and it took us two years.
And now we're finally launching on March 3.

It's all this weird stuff. So you'll find my documentaries, her documentaries, stuff from James Fox and other people in the genre, as well as stuff about meditation, yoga. We also have a lot of true crime. You know, we're going a little edgier, and then we've been shooting a lot of original stuff that we're You really excited
said the MTV of are we gonna have some, like, spiritual music videos?
It really is. I loved MTV because it just had a lot of really cool music videos, and then they stopped that. I was like, I've watched MTV since they got rid of the cool music videos because you'd leave it playing, you'd listen to music, and then back then people were so competitive in making great music videos. Now we have AI, so it'll probably be mostly AI content. But back in the day, the music videos were so cool, and now you rarely see them.
It's actually a great idea. There's this artist I love, Queen Herbie. I don't know if you heard of her, but she does like she like raps about this weird stuff that we're into. You know, everything is energy.
You are close. Hey. Say that again. There's a lot of great conscious artists coming out too where like if you listen to the intention of their music, you're like, that is so powerful between hip hop and electronic music, R and B. I feel like there's a whole it's very niche.
I have to find it, and I really enjoy it when I do find it because it's not mainstream. Obviously, mainstream music is mainstream because you have Clear Channel just pushing them out to get those billions of interactions. Maybe Spark can be this platform for niche spiritual artists to come in and be showcased.
That is our intention. We work with a lot of distributors and a lot of producers that we already know, but we also want to crowdsource a lot of stuff and offer a platform to the amazing creators out there who are doing beautiful stuff. Started out in this field over ten years ago, none of this stuff was on YouTube, right? You had to go to conferences like the one we're at now to meet people and to find talent and meet your favorite authors and whatever. But there's so much more, so many more artists out there who can't make it to these beautiful events and who aren't visible.
So we're gonna provide a home for the best content out there.
That's really cool. So let's go into, like you must have some sort of spiritual awakening at some point, just UFO awakening. What brought you into this? Why are you here at Conscious Life? Why are you excited to be here at Conscious Life?
Well, is it's my punishment in a way. And here's what I mean by that. I actually love it. It's not a punishment at all. But I was a skeptical debunker of everything that I considered paranormal, pseudoscience, conspiratorial.
I was a diehard atheist, materialist reductionist.
And did not want to live in a universe where any of this stuff was real.
I had my I was a card carrying member of Michael Shermer's Skeptic Society, and our motto is extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. And I had fellow skeptics who would say, Oh, I want to believe in God or aliens or consciousness or whatever, but I just can't. There's not enough evidence. And I would say, Why do you want to believe? I'm glad it's not real.
I don't want to live in a universe where any of this is real. And then I got into debating people because I thought it was immoral for anyone to talk about this pseudoscience stuff.
And I'll be sitting here now. That's very interesting. Exactly. The story is going somewhere. It's fascinating.
So I did not have the Road to Damascus moment. I didn't see a UFO and have this life changing thing. It was way more mundane than that. It was me having a lot of arguments with people and looking for the strongest arguments against my position because I wanted to be right. It was so important that I was right.
And then it was death by a thousand cuts. And then finally I had to accept that the extraordinary evidence I was demanding was totally there and that the skeptical debunkers who I had idolized, who were my heroes, were actually cynical bad actors. They were acting in bad faith and they were totally misrepresenting the reality of the evidence. It's like people say, Oh, couldn't you keep a secret as big as UFOs. There would be whistleblowers.
Yeah, you're right. And there are. There are hundreds of whistleblowers. They held a press conference in Washington, D. C.
In 2001. There's so much evidence.
Well, beyond mainstream news, purposely don't put that on there. Mainstream is a different version. It's when critical mass hits and what you're getting at.
So finally, accepted I was wrong and I was so depressed about it. Then I had to ask myself, Well, why? Why am I depressed about this stuff being real? For me, the first thing I accepted was telepathy and consciousness and then it was everything else. The answer that came to me was, Well, if this stuff is real, I have to take responsibility not only for this information but for my own happiness and my own well-being.
Because I actually was comforted by the idea of living in a cold, dead, impersonal universe because then I'm just a victim of circumstance and I'm not responsible for anything.
Comfortable in being a victim. That sounds there's a lot of that going on in society.
Shifting. Right. But if we're living in a conscious quantum hologram that we are co creating, well then I have to participate in that and I have to take responsibility for all of that. And then also if there's a giant UFO cover up and all this other stuff, well I can't just keep that to myself. Became, I felt, my responsibility to participate in this.
And at first it felt like a punishment, like, Oh, I'm being punished for all my years of skepticism and whatever. But now I love it. Obviously I've embraced incorporated these things into my worldview in a way that hasn't completely deranged me, which I think is a trap for a lot of people who are on this awakening path. Can be extremely destabilizing and overwhelming. And then that's a turn off to people who would join our team if we made it more attractive to join our team.
So that's kind of how I ended up here.
Fascinating story. You were assimilated into the woo woo crowd, or I like to remove one of the woos and just call it woo. Yeah. Woo hoo. Yeah.
And now I love it. I love being part of the freak show. You know, Serena and I were just walking around the expo and she looked at me and said Wow, you're so at home here!
And I said Yeah, yeah, it's the king of freaks!
About you man? Were you always on the right side of all this stuff?
I don't think there's a right or a wrong side. I was just telling someone, I've been going to this conference since I was a kid. Ironically, was called Whole Life Expo originally. Remember being in the basement and I had a Hansen soda, and I was drinking and some high hippie came up and was like, can I try that? And I was like, just kidding, I'm like, okay.
And then someone saw what was going on. He gave me the can back and someone grabs the can from me and was like, I'm gonna buy you a new soda. That was my first memory of this conference. I was like five, eight, was some very young age. But we've been coming here for a long time.
I always found it fascinating. I grew up with my mom, obviously, one of the OGs of the consciousness movement and spirituality, transforming people's lives through education going back before I was born, really. Nowadays, I kind of make fun of it because I feel spiritual adolescents and the new new agers, which is fine. You have to start somewhere. I was that point at one point, and I kind of go like, is this really my crowd?
But it really is because I still love crystals. I still love consciousness. I love spirituality. I don't have the patience to be social because I'm a huge introvert.
This is easy. I get to sit with you here, and they're outside. I don't have to talk to anyone except you. I can focus. I'm great focusing with small groups of people, but when I through the the the sea of people down there, I'm like, oh.
It's a lot there's a lot of squirrely energy out there. And it's not just here. It's anytime I'm I'm in crowds,
like Well, they're selling psilocybin down the hall, the smell of weeds everywhere. Yeah. I get I'm an empath, so I'm, like, get a contact high walking around here little bit. I'm like,
oh, pretty. Same. I'm also an empath, but this is something that I've recently been figuring out. I'll go to Whole Foods and I'll walk out and I'll just be so agitated and in a rage and I'm starting to realize oh this isn't mine. This is just stuff I'm picking up from other people.
My whole life I just was dealing with this it's like poor energetic hygiene. It's like you go outside, you get covered in other people's energy, and then you identify with it, and you think it's yours. It's
Well, whole it's interesting because my sister and I, like, I used to be part of the DJ community at nightlife. So we'd go out and I would drink and I have a hangover. Right? Natural process of going and partying. And then I wasn't drinking and my sister were like, we're we're we're gonna go out and go to these parties because, you know, we didn't have anything to do.
We're like, alright. Let's go. We haven't been out in a long time. We we come back home, still be hungover, no drinking. And it was because of the energy that we're we literally got a people hangover because when you're around a lot of people that are not in their body, other things can be in their body.
So you're around it's not dark forces, so to speak, but the the frequency frequency you're you're around is dragging your energy. So you're resonating really high. And while I love music and I love going to music venues where unfortunately, there's a lot of people that are a little bit over imbibed. Yeah. And then I get a people hangover.
My sister gets a people hangover.
I'm just like, oh my god. I've never even thought about this concept, but I immediately recognize this is something that I've been experiencing. And it's why I avoid parties. Like, don't really drink alcohol, and I just I avoid those situations.
You're resonating. There's no resonance. So I love the music, but if there weren't people there, ironically though, you probably wouldn't be there because it's a social event. A weird push and pull. I have nice speakers in my house, and I'll put on some good music sometimes.
It's not the same because at the end of the day, we really want tribalism and community. It's just hard to find that tribe.
This has gotta be with the right tribe. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's so interesting. People hangover.
